Multidirectional Speed in Youth Soccer Players

چکیده
This review provides a definition for multidirectional speed (MDS) and evaluates its technical mechanical underpinnings. explores each component of MDS while considering unique aspects youth physiology epidemiology. With theoretical understanding MDS, practitioners will be more informed on the planning periodization training methods in soccer. comprises linear speed, change direction curvilinear contextual agility, which have distinct physiological, biomechanical, neurocognitive distinctions that can either differentiated or harmonized to optimize training.

Muscle Strength and Speed Performance in Youth Soccer Players
This study aimed to examine the relationship between maximum leg extension strength and sprinting performance in youth elite male soccer players. Sixty-three youth players (12.5 ± 1.3 years) performed 5 m, flying 15 m and 20 m sprint tests and a zigzag agility test on a grass field using timing gates. Two days later, subjects performed a one-repetition maximum leg extension test (79.3 ± 26.9 kg...
متن کاملGames in Elite Youth Soccer Players
Eight elite male soccer players from a Premier League Soccer Academy completed 4 v 4 and 8 v 8 games. The physiological responses to match-play were determined for each player by recording their heart rates during all the games and filming each player to determine individual work-rate profiles and evaluate technical actions. Mean ± SD heart rate for 4 v 4 and 8 v 8 matches were not significantl...
متن کاملProfile, Correlation and Structure of Speed in Youth Elite Soccer Players
Speed, power and agility are important components of fitness and determine the level of success and performance in soccer. The aim of this study was to identify speed variables and to determine their mutual correlation and structure in youth elite soccer players. The research group consisted of players from the Czech U16 national team (n = 22, age = 15.6 ± 0.4 years). Speed variables were asses...
متن کاملSeasonal Variation in Isokinetic Peak Torque in Youth Soccer Players
The aim of the study was to investigate the seasonal variation in the strength of the knee flexors and extensors in highly trained youth soccer players. The players (n=16; age 16.7±0.7) were measured at the end of the competitive season, at the beginning of the off-season and during the sixth week of a new competitive season. Isokinetic concentric peak torque was measured at 60°·s-1, 180°·s-1, ...
متن کاملKinematic Analysis of the Instep Kick in Youth Soccer Players
We attempted to establish which applied kinematic variables significantly contributed to the efficiency of the instep kick motion in soccer. The study sample comprised 13 boys (age: 13 ± 0.5 yrs; body mass: 41.50 ± 8.40 kg; body height: 151.46 ± 5.93 cm) from the FC Sloboda school of soccer. Each participant performed three kicks with maximum strength that were video recorded with two synchroni...
